Packed Tower

Packed Towers

The packed tower or packed bed scrubber is used for the removal of gaseous, fume, or mist contaminants from an air stream. Packed Bed Scrubbers are relatively simple devices with potentially very complex chemistry. A well designed packed tower takes into consideration many factors and each application must be analyzed very carefully to assure chemical compatibility of all components and still achieve the desired results. Fisher-Klosterman, Inc. engineers are well prepared to solve even the most difficult scrubbing applications of multiple contaminants and can provide thoroughly integrated and smoothly functioning systems. "MPS" Multi-Purpose Scrubber

The Fisher-Klosterman MPS Multi-Purpose Scrubber is able to effectively collect particulate and absorb gasses in a single package. The inlet section includes a venturi throat which captures particles and sends them to the separator. The separator has a packing section for gas absorption along with a mist eliminator to ensure a clean stack. Our unique design utilizes an internal tray which separates the liquid loops of each section so that chemical usage is minimized. An inlet quench section can be added to handle gas temperatures of 2000F if required.

Available Features:

  • Vertical or horizontal gas entry
  • Carbon steel, stainless, alloys, aluminum, or fiberglass construction
  • Integral or external recirculation tanks
  • Instrumentation
  • Pumps and piping
  • Chemical control systems
  • Various packing material choices
  • High temperature quench section
  • High pressure design
  • Abrasion resistant construction
  • Performance warranty
