Drum Magnet
For separating high volumes of steel or for especially demanding applications, a powerful Dings
drum magnet may be the answer. These rugged separators are built to last with heavy-duty manganese
wear shells to protect against damage from large or sharp objects.

Permanent (ceramic) magnet
These separators offer the highest level of magnetic strength and are appropriate for many different
applications, including scrap processing, auto shredding, mining, aggregate, or anywhere large volumes
of metal need to be removed. Both lateral and radial pole designs are offered. Our sales engineers

Eddy current separators
2 Pulley Eddy Current Separator
Eddy current separators are commonly used to separate non-ferrous materials from mixed waste and other product
streams. When a magnetic rotor is turned at high rates of speed, powerful forces called eddy currents are created.

with varying degrees of force depending on their composition. Thus, aluminum, copper and other metals can be separated
from glass, plastic, wood, etc. creating clean product
.All of Dings eddy current separators feature a triple shell design for maximum strength and durability. This
design produces a deeper field to process more tons per hour with better recovery rates.
FERROPLATE PLATE MAGNETS
If you’re engaged in bulk processing — food, grain, chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, minerals, etc. — protect
your valuable equipment and your customers from tramp metal contamination with a Dings Ferroplate plate magnet.
The high surface strength of magnetic plates makes them ideally suited for sloping chute applications. Dings Ferroplate
magnets are available as a plate to be installed in an existing process or preinstalled in a variety of Ferroplate
equipped products.
Dings unique design features raised pole pieces to provide better protection. Since the strongest magnetic field
on any plate magnet is between the two poles, most of the tramp metal will accumulate in the gap between the poles.
The Ferroplate’s raised magnetic pole pieces create a recess in this area which holds the attracted metal more securely
than designs which have a narrow raised strip between the poles.
Dings Ferroplate magnets are offered in five different styles with varying magnetic strengths to work in a variety
of applications:
GRATE MAGNETS
Grate magnets remove small particles of ferrous metal from free-flowing powders and granular
materials. Standard construction features 1” round tubes filled with either high grade ceramic or
rare earth magnets. These tubes can be supplied either unhoused or housed in a variety of configurations
to meet the needs of your application. Our standard products are listed below:

Dings magnetic head pulleys are some of the simplest, yet most effective, magnetic separators. Just mount it
in place of a standard head pulley and it easily and efficiently separates ferrous metal from the product stream.
As product passes over the
head pulley, non-ferrous material is discharged in a normal trajectory. Ferrous metal is attracted to the pulley
and remains on the belt until the belt moves away from the pulley falling clear of the product stream. The separation
is automatic and continuous.

Light-Duty Floor Sweepers
These walk-behind sweepers are available in several models, each with a unique design. The Rollo and Skidlo models
are ideal for confined areas with their low profile design. To clean, simply remove the magnetic tube from the housing
and attracted metal falls free. The Swinglo’s unique magnet mount allows the magnetic tube to swing away from obstructions
on uneven indoor surfaces. 
Pathguard Magnetic Floor Sweeper
The Pathguard uses a strong plate magnet to pick up metal debris. One quick, simple motion releases the load
after sweeping. The Pathguard is available in sweeping widths of 18”, 24”, 30”, and 36”. In addition to indoor use,
the Pathguard can be used on driveways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces.
MAGNETS FOR PNEUMATIC CONVEYING
If you convey your materials pneumatically, you know the unique challenges it presents — pressure drops, flow
blockage, leaks, etc. Dings offers two distinct styles of magnetic separators especially designed to remove tramp
metal from pneumatic systems without interfering with the process:
Pneumatic In-Line Magnet
If you're looking to capture larger pieces of tramp such as screws, buts, etc. - choose a pneumatic in-line magnet.
This separator installs directly into the pneumatic line to capture ferrous contaminants in the product stream without
inhibiting product flow. The separator may be installed in horizontal or vertical pneumatic lines.
Models are available for 2”, 3”, 4”, 5” and 6” lines.
Cartridge
If contamination from fine ferrous particles is your problem, choose a Dings cartridge magnet. This unique design
is engineered to capture and retain even the finest particles. The bullet shaped magnetic cartridge provides maximum
magnetic surface area. Attracted metal is safely retained behind the flanges until it is removed.
OVERHEAD MAGNETIC SEPARATORS

For demanding applications such as concrete recycling or construction and demolition waste processing, Dings
has designed a Severe-Duty Self-Cleaning Magnet. With a stainless steel cleated belt and heavy-duty drive package,
this magnet is built to withstand the toughest conditions.

this design eliminates the major cause of coil failure: insulation breakdown. Dings Scrap Lifting Magnets are available
in diameters from 37 to 77 inches.

Dings PC and FC drum separators are designed for applications
with lower volumes of ferrous metal contaminants, such as foundries, powder or grain processing, crumb rubber and
plastics or other recycling. Dings PC model is furnished as a drum only (without motor and housing) and mounts easily
with pillow block bearing and shaft clamp. This permanent magnet design is available in ceramic, rare earth and
high strength rare earth styles.
