The completely sealed, impeller-less way to mix

Chemineer designs, manufactures and supplies a unique range of low shear, high solids-loading NIMIX mixing systems. NIMIX container/mixer systems are used for both the manufacture and transportation of a range of fluids with applications in chemicals, food and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

NIMIX provides low shear mixing/blending with high recirculation in a sealed environment, with complete absence of rotating shafts or seals. Its bottom-to-top mixing flow generates excellent solids suspension with rapid homogenization. A large effective turndown ratio adapts to variable batch sizes with ease.

NIMIX Mixing Technology

Effective, efficient and unique, NIMIX mixes by circulating from bottom to top. NIMIX is the solution to mixing in a sealed container and is applicable to a wide range of duties.

NIMIX technology blends as a result of oscillation rather than stirring. The combination of a reciprocating piston head/diaphragm and a fixed 'diode' plate creates a powerful bottom to top circulation and mixing action, which quickly suspends solids and easily handles non-Newtonian fluids.

Reliability from Research

Research into the lifetime prediction of elastomeric components backs the reliability of the diaphragm in this unique, patented mixing system.

The 'diode' plate has a central hole, bell mouthed upwards, with a ring of holes, bell mouthed downwards. On the upstroke of the diaphragm/piston head, fluid flows mainly upwards through the central hole; and on the downstroke fluid flows mainly downwards image through the outer ring of holes. Most of the mixing takes place in the cavity between the diode plate and the diaphragm.

The piston head is driven by a variable speed electric motor affording close control of the low-shear mixing action.

The combination of an oscillating piston plate and fixed diode plate gives unique mixing characteristics, i.e., low shear - 20-30s-1 with rapid recirculation at 7-10 ft/s (2-3m/s).
